Empowerment Ministries Christian Center was founded by Pastor Gregg S. Magee, Sr. in January of 2007. During that time Bible study was held at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church on Friday nights at 7:00 p.m. On June 10, 2007, Pastor Magee changed his service times to Sunday at 11:00 a.m. at Bayou View Apartments Recreation Center. On January 27, 2008 Pastor Magee began having service at the Teen Extreme Center in downtown Gulfport at 9:30 a.m. As the ministry began to grow and the hunger for God’s Word became great Pastor Magee added a Thursday night Bible study on June 5, 2008. On August 19, 2009, we purchased our first building, located at 1700 30th Avenue, Gulfport, MS.



In the last 6 years Pastor Magee has diligently sought the voice of God to make a difference on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The ministry partnered with the Gulfport School District and sponsored the after school tutorial program for three years. During the summer the ministry is a part of a government program to feed children where we provide roughly 1,200 meals each summer. We have participated in this for two years. Within the first six months in the building we joined with Bay Area Food Bank to help provide food for families in need. This is an ongoing ministry that continues to grow and impact the lives of many. We are known for our service and passion for young people. We have had an ongoing bible study in both middle and high schools in the community.



Pastor Magee has hosted several seminars on parenting, singleness, marriage, health and wellness, Financial Peace University, sexual addictions, home buyers seminars, and so much more.



He believes that God wants us to be blessed and have a balance in all areas of our lives - spiritually, emotionally, educationally, physically, and yes, even financially.
